The Center for AI Learning provides undergraduate and graduate students with opportunities to dive into experiential learning projects that provide real-world experience with AI applications and networking with industry professionals and corporate sponsors. Students interested in developing and deploying AI solutions should apply to specific projects they meet the qualifications for. The Center also directly employs Student Fellows to focus on process improvement, project management, consulting, and educational services that benefit the Center and its constituents.

AI.Data Lab is Accepting Applications
If you’re curious about the world of data science, this co-curricular program is for you. Students will tackle real-world data science consulting projects, while getting expert insttruction and advice from Emory faculty and corporate sponsors. Emory students of all levels and majors are welcome to apply.

Operations & Strategy Student Fellow
Our Operations Student Fellows take on projects to improve internal processes and manage experiential learning projects. These students help scope and manage client engagements while overseeing the work of Student Specialists. Operations Student Fellows are also expected to continuously improve how the Center for AI Learning conducts business, coordinates events, and organizes internal processes.
To apply to be an Operations & Strategy Student Fellow, you must have demonstrated experience in project management and/or consulting. Any major can apply, but students with an educational background and/or professional experience in Business, Computer or Data Science, Communications, Strategy & Innovation, and other relevant fields are encouraged to apply. Operations Student Fellows must have some programming experience in Python or relevant artificial intelligence tools. You should have an interest in learning more about artificial intelligence and managing developers, projects, and deliverables.
Research & Training Student Fellow
Our Research & Training Student Fellows organize and contribute to the educational resources needed for Student Specialists and the community-at-large to learn about artificial intelligence. These students organize and facilitate the Center’s workshops for the public. These students also help Student Specialists with initial research or troubleshooting necessary to facilitate experiential learning projects. For reference, this role somewhat serves as a Teaching Assistant, making sure that all Student Specialists have proper support and access to relevant resources to complete their projects.
To apply to be a Research & Training Student Fellow, you must have advanced experience in linear and non-parametric regression techniques, in R or Python. You should also have completed multiple projects using artificial intelligence tools or concepts, including but not limited to TensorFlow, PyTorch, private GPT models, Hugging Face, etc. You should be curious to learn more about the technical approaches and aspects of artificial intelligence. Excellent candidates will also have knowledge of relevant tools in web development, database management, and data visualization. Excellent candidates will have experience in teaching these tools or concepts.
Student Specialists
Student Specialists have the unique opportunity to directly work with an Emory faculty member, a corporate sponsor, or a local nonprofit or governmental body to instill AI into the real world. Student Specialists are hired directly onto projects, and they are co-managed by the project sponsor and Center staff.
To apply to be a Student Specialist, you must be above freshman year status either at Oxford College or Emory University. While we accept all majors and backgrounds, you must have basic experience in linear and non-parametric regression techniques, including in R or Python. The student should be experienced in data visualization, communication, and storytelling. You should have a demonstrated enthusiasm for applications of artificial intelligence, and baseline knowledge of artificial intelligence. Ideally, the student is experienced with project management and code organization. Additional responsibilities may be included along with the specific job posting.
